No. 3 from Chausson's Trois Chansons de Shakespeare (Op. 28), composed in 1890. The French text by Maurice Bouchor is adapted from one of Ophelia's songs in Shakespeare's Hamlet (Act 4, Scene 5), where she sings in madness after the death of her father Polonius at the hands of Prince Hamlet.
